Men's Final Four Weekend: Boston Bound

05/22/2008 By Lax Spot

The LaxSpot Staff is excited to make the trip to Boston this weekend.  Keep an eye out for the tailgate brigade!  Let us know where your tailgate is going to be so we can stop by to say hello.

Onto the action now.  Three days of great games and I'm sure that Boston will provide an adequate nightlife seen as it always does.

Saturday:  D1 Semi-Finals.
Game 1:  Syracuse vs Virginia - These teams went to OT during the 2008 Face Off Classic.  Syracuse is back to form after missing the playoffs last year.  UVA has been cruising along this season winning 4 OT games.  This should be a good one.

Game 2: Duke vs JHU - A playoff rematch of the 2005 and 2007 National Championship games which JHU took both.  Who could forget 2007's NC game where it went back and forth and down to the wire.

Sunday:
Division 3 matchup between Cortland and Salisbury.  Who could ask for a better game?  This will mark the third straight national championship appearance for each squad.  In 2006, Cortland stunned the lacrosse world by taking down the undefeated (69 game winning streak) Seagulls.  In 2007, it was a revenge thing for the Gulls who gave Cortland a good drubbing.  In 2008, we expect nothing more than a high scoring exciting game.

After the D3 game, the D2 National Championship will take place.  Lemoyne is going for the three-peat and NYIT is looking to bring the title back to Long Island.
